They're not interchangeable. Pepperoni crisps and renders. Italian sausage brings fennel and a coarser texture. Seasoned beef adds bulk and a beefy background note. Ham is the mild one, providing sweetness and moisture. Bacon does what bacon always does — smoke and crunch, mostly at the top of the pile where it catches the heat.

The problem with meat pizzas

Fat. All five ingredients release it during baking, and it pools on the surface. That's part of the flavour, but it also means the pizza can end up greasy in a way that's genuinely unpleasant by the fourth slice. The fix is simple: order it well done. The extra minutes let more fat render out and give the surface time to crisp rather than swim.

A blotting pass with a paper towel before serving is not a crime, whatever anyone tells you. It removes surface oil without touching the flavour underneath.

Cost and calories

This is one of the more expensive standard pizzas on any menu, and it's rarely the best value play. Five toppings on a promotional "any toppings" structure will usually cost less than the named specialty version of the same thing. Worth checking before you order.

Calorie-wise, expect somewhere north of 350 per slice on a medium hand-tossed, with sodium running high across the board. It is not a light meal and doesn't pretend to be.
