What makes a price report useful

Price corrections are the single most valuable thing readers send us, and they are what keeps the menu pages honest. A useful one takes about thirty seconds to write.

Tell us the item exactly as it appeared on the menu, the size you ordered, the city and ideally the neighbourhood, whether it was carryout or delivery, and the date. Those five things let us place your figure in context rather than treating it as an outlier.

A photo of the receipt is better than all of it. Receipts show the line-by-line breakdown — the item price, the delivery fee, the tax and any discount applied — which is exactly the detail that gets lost when someone reports a single total from memory.

We do not publish reader names, addresses or receipt images. They go into an internal log with the city and date attached, and that log is what our cost breakdowns are built from.

What happens after you write

The form above is not connected and does not transmit anything. If you email us directly, a person may review your message, but replies are not guaranteed.

If a correction checks out, we update the figure, move the page's last-updated date, and — where the change alters a recommendation rather than just a number — add a short note explaining what changed. We do not quietly edit and pretend the old version never existed.

If we cannot corroborate a report, we will usually say so and ask whether you have the receipt. That is not us doubting you; prices genuinely vary between two stores in the same city, and a single data point is hard to act on.

Requesting a city guide

Reader requests decide most of what we publish next, city guides especially. If you want your metro covered, the useful thing to include is not just the name — it is what makes ordering there different. Long delivery distances, an awkward river crossing, a campus that empties every summer, a local tax quirk, a stadium that ruins Sunday afternoons.

Those details are what separate a guide worth reading from a template with a city name dropped into it, and they are the one thing we cannot research from a spreadsheet.

Before you write

No. We are an independent publication, not a restaurant and not a delivery service. We have no access to store systems and no way to contact a store on your behalf. For anything transactional, use the brand’s official app or customer service line.
